Kenny Omega defeated Konosuke Takeshita Sunday night at AEW Revolution to capture the International Championship. His victory marked the culmination of his comeback from a battle with diverticulitis that was more than a year in the making.

At AEW Revolution 2025, Kenny Omega squared off with Konosuke Takeshita in a spectacular contest for the International Championship.

Tony Khan announced an AEW International Title eliminator tournament that will begin on the March 12th episode of AEW Dynamite. The winner of the tournament will challenge Kenny Omega for the AEW International Title at AEW Dynasty. Orange Cassidy will face Hechicero and a Wild Card participate will face The Beast Mortos on AEW Dynamite.

Kenny Omega and Konosuke Takeshita paid tribute to a popular manga at AEW Revolution. At AEW Revolution, Konosuke Takeshita defended the AEW International Championship against Kenny Omega. The match was Omega’s return to action at a standard AEW pay-per-view for the first time in over a year,

Last night saw Omega defeat Konosuke Takeshita in an excellent back-and-forth bout to dethrone Takeshita as the AEW International Champion. In a match full of big moves and finishers, it was a cruxific pin that did the job for Kenny, bringing an end to Takeshita's International Title reign at 148 days.

Kenny Omega will speak on the March 12th episode of AEW Dynamite. AEW announced the segment on social media. Omega won the AEW International Championship from Konosuke Takeshita at AEW Revolution.
