ORLANDO, Fla. — Months after being voted out of office, former State Representative Carolina Amesty (R-Windermere) has been charged with federal crimes related to a pandemic-era relief program.

Carolina Amesty, 30, Republican obtained $122,000 by fraudulently applying for pandemic relief funds in the name of two businesses.

In all, the complaint accuses Amesty of stealing or embezzling $122,000 in federal loan dollars — $84,500 through Carolina Amesty Foundation and $37,500 through Dinocar Auto Sales LLC.
