The Danish government is reported to be in "crisis mode" and "freaking out" after Donald Trump double downed on his demands to take control of Greenland. The US President told reporters on board his presidential plane that he was confident of acquiring the territory.

A call between President Donald Trump and Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen about Greenland recently spiraled out of control, according to several officials briefed on the call. The Financial Times first reported Friday on the 45-minute call between Trump and Frederiksen,

Trump has shown interest in making Greenland part of the US and has not dismissed the use of military or economic power.

The Danes have not asked for it, but the Dutch Cabinet still wants to “express solidarity with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen,” said Caspar Veldkamp (Foreign Affairs) in a parliamentary debate on the upcoming EU formal summit.

Frederiksen, who met on Tuesday with European leaders including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, French President Emmanuel Macron and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, said she had received 'a great deal of support' from Europe following Donald Trump's threats to gain control of Greenland.

Denmark is doing everything possible to dissuade Trump from wanting to take control of Greenland. The country's Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, announced that she has received support from "European leaders.
